Talks
I’ve always done public speaking, since I was in secondary school.
Especially when it comes to sharing real experiences from the outdoors, and I’ve been doing it for a number of years with schools and youth groups, most recently with my own podcast 'The Wilderness Guild Podcast'. My talks are shaped by time spent in challenging environments and focus on survival — not just as a skillset, but as a powerful metaphor for life. Through honest stories and practical lessons, the aim is to give young people fresh perspective, confidence, and ideas they can carry with them.

Thrown to the Wild
Lessons from the outdoors on becoming more capable, kinder and more human
This talk uses real outdoor experiences to explore what happens when comfort is removed and responsibility becomes real. It highlights how challenge builds self-trust, empathy, and stronger connections with others. By stepping outside familiar routines, young people discover qualities that modern life often hides.
Built from the Ground Up
Lessons from survival on how strong foundations support confidence, resilience, and leadership.
This talk uses survival skills as a metaphor for life, showing how learning to look after yourself creates a solid base to build from. It explains why confidence grows from doing the basics well, not from pretending to have all the answers. When foundations are strong, young people feel calmer, more capable, and ready to take on bigger challenges

Lost on Purpose
Lessons from the outdoors on how getting lost can sometimes point you towards the right direction in life
This talk explores moments in the wild where plans fall apart and certainty disappears, forcing people to slow down and reassess. It shows how getting lost can sharpen awareness, encourage better choices, and open unexpected paths. Young people are encouraged to see uncertainty not as failure, but as a meaningful part of finding their own direction

Built for You
A talk shaped around what matters most to your students.
Built for You is a flexible talk designed in collaboration with schools and groups to focus on the themes they care about most. Before the session, you choose the areas you’d like to explore — from confidence and resilience to decision-making, leadership, careers, or feeling lost — and the talk is built around those priorities. Using real outdoor experiences and survival stories, it creates a session that feels relevant, engaging, and genuinely tailored to the people in the room.
